Solaris

Solaris is a bionic wearable device inspired by the Nautilus' biological mechanism of sensing environmental changes through its shell. With a built-in UV sensor, the necklace's bionic shell dynamically changes color in response to the intensity of sunlight, recording and artistically rendering the user's exposure to the sun in real time, with the data synced to the mobile app via low-power Bluetooth.

Design assumption

The Chinese public's perception of UV light is polarized: young people over-protect themselves from the sun, while middle-aged and elderly people ignore its cancer risk. Compared to foreign sun protection systems and standards, there is a lack of scientific guidance in China. Using design as a bridge to reconcile the risks and benefits of UV, the “invisible light” can become a positive force in human health management.
